Wow Cool Remains Open

Yes! Wow Cool is still open. We are taking orders and shipping out via the US Postal Service once or twice a week. Online ordering is available ’round-the-clock. We will soon be adding a TON of new and old books to the site. We’re actually pretty backlogged with getting them listed, but are getting some help from our old Silicon Valley product manager Daniel, to whom we are very grateful. When we closed the brick-and-mortar store a year ago this month we did not imagine a scenario where we would be grateful that we did not reopen. You all know what’s going on. In the greater SF Bay Area we have officially been on lockdown since Monday, March 16. Here at Wow Cool we went into hiding three weeks earlier. So, we are all well here. Thank you very much.

We will not be able to back-order or special-order most items (feel free to send us a want list. We might have it!), nor will be restocking most sold out books while this goes on. Any new items we receive will be from small press sources. Most larger distributors are currently closed. Fortunately we have a massive. I’m not kidding… MASSIVE amount of books that have never been listed on the site. Look for lots of fine new publications from Uncivilized, Fantagraphics, Drawn & Quarterly and more to go up soon. We also have some serious oddities, rarities and outright orphans from the likes of John Porcellino’s King-Cat, King Features (what?!), Mike Allred and Ed Brubaker on the way. We will be catching up on that backlog soon.

We thank you so much for your support during our 30+ years as a comics, zines and music shop. Especially big thanks to Jim Rugg and Ed Piskor and all the people who discovered us through their very awesome Comics Kayfabe multimedia empire.

Be good to each other. Stay safe. Stay well.
