Karl Stevens announced on Facebook Tuesday that he has been sacked by the Boston Phoenix, where his comic strip (most recently called ‘Failure’) had been running for seven years. The dismissal is reportedly due to advertiser complaints over the most recent strip shown above. The Phoenix had recently closed it’s newspapers and switched over to a glossy magazine format.
