As the adults deal with the tragic aftermath of last issue's events, the kids face a challenge of their own. The woman Rusty accidentally burned when his mutant fire abilities emerged returns, and the remorseful young man tries to make amends. However, Rusty will soon learn that making a deal with the malevolent Morlock called Masque is not too different than making a pact with the devil himself.
