Go get these on for yourselfness

Aaron Smith – of Scientific Maps, nickname: Rebel, Stars of Rock and Evolution Revolution fame – has been mixing it up on the wheels of steel on the Bat Terrible show, Thursdays at 4pm, on WCDB 90.9FM in Albany, New York. He’s been spinning plenty of lovely localness from the likes of Brown Cuts Neighbors, Gaven Richard, Complicated Shirt and others as well as the choicest crop of indie rock all-stars. The shows are available as podcast downloads on PodOmatic. You can follow Aaron in his Food for Witches guise on Twitter.

An absolute must read for those in the music biz, or those just curious about such things, is this series up on Hypebot by Michael Fiebach of being on the road with DJ Shadow. We interviewed Michael earlier this year on Wow Cool. He is as forthcoming and direct as they come in this business. Get started with part one: “An Exclusive Look At How One Artist Stays Connected To His Fans”, and be sure to read all five parts.

Be on the lookout this coming February for the 27th issue of Brian Wood’s Northlanders series from DC Comics Vertigo imprint. With this issue begins the Siege of Paris storyline, illustrated by Simon Gane. I have cajoled Simon about granting Wow Cool an advance look at his work on the series, so check here for those images in the new year.

Making a go at it as a comic book artist? The you must go and read “A scene that celebrates itself has nothing to celebrate” by Scary Go Round/Bad Machinery creator John Allison. Sorry I’m a little later to this than everyone else in the comics community. John is also on Twitter.
