Description

Comics anthology about emigration during the Second World War. Comic artists unveil forgotten stories of victims of National Socialism.

Nine young comic artists from eight European countries retell unknown and forgotten stories of people who suffered under National Socialism. The first part of the project (2015) focuses on forgotten victims of the Nazi’s anti-Semitic and racist ideology. The second part (2018) sheds light on escape and migration movements in Europe during the reign of Adolf Hitler.

Under the guidance of comic artist Sascha Hommer and comic theorist Ole Frahm, the nine participants were supported in their research and art for almost a year. Their stories illustrate an unseen, forgotten and marginalised part of our collective memory. In lending a voice to people who have not been heard before, they offer a new perspective on a present we all share.
