15 Seconds, October 17th 1989. The Loma Prieta Earthquake. The World Series Quake. 5:04pm. 6.9 magnitude. The shock was responsible for 63 deaths, 3,757 injuries and millions of dollars in damage. Two dozen writers and artists document where they were and what they experienced on that day. As the editor wrote: “These our are pieces of the picture. Fragments of the bigger picture. Parts of something that happens and continues.”
