Bahman Ghobadi, the director of the movie “No One Knows About Persian Cats” says why every one can watch his movie without paying for it, while his movies are banned in Iran. He asks people to support anyone working for underground music like the children in the movie. If it’s not playing near you, I’m sure you can find it out there.

UPDATE: The film is being distributed by IFC Films and is showing in San Jose at Cinema 3. Check your local listings.

No One Know About Persian Cats follows a young boy and a young girl in Iran as they plan to launch a music group shortly after being released from prison. Both characters travel to Tehran where they meet other underground rock musicians and attempt to convince them to leave Iran. However, their dreams to flee to Europe in order to play music freely seem improbable without money or a passport.
