New Books and Comics: May 4, 2018

The Wow Cool® Alternative Comics store in Cupertino is having it’s fifth annual Free Comic Book Day event from 10am-7pm tomorrow, Saturday, May 5th. Wow Cool is celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Cupertino store and the 30th anniversary of our founding in New York City in 1988. The sale has been going on online for much longer. We are extending the sale through Sunday—in Cupertino (normal hours noon-6pm), and online—as before. So, anywhere in the lower 48 states you will be able to get 20% off from Midnight, Friday, May 4th, Through Midnight Sunday, May 6th from WowCool.com. We are padding this by an hour before and after to avoid any goofiness with our web server, which is in the Mountain time zone. Any online orders received over the weekend will receive a stack of free comics, old and new. Choose Priority Flat Rate or Media Mail to get the largest selection of books.

At the Cupertino store event there will be tons of free comics for kids and adults, arts and crafts activities for kids, gaming table, a lemonade stand, and everything in the store will be 20% off. There will also be several bargain bins of manga and comics. It is all new books. The long boxes from our last sale are long gone.

DC Super Hero Girls artist Yancey Labat will be our special guest. He will be signing and sketching for the kids. Local cartoonists Peter S. Conrad and Gideon O. Egbuchulam have also joined our lineup of guests!
