Mike Kelley: Hero 1954-2012
Mike Kelley, a sure godfather figure to many who have followed, including the likes of Fort Thunder and Brown Cuts Neighbors, has left this world. He will be much missed. I just wanted to share a few images and link to some words about the man…

He was a senior when I was a freshman at the U of M. I was always amazed, disturbed and fascinated by what he became and what he did. I was lucky enough to see the Pluto’s Cave performance and will never forget it. He was an original, and I liked how he never forgot Detroit. Irreverant, brave and a brainiac about creating things on multi levels, there is no one to replace him. I am heartbroken.
Also, he was fucking funny. What a package!
