There is one band from upstate (Albany) New York that shows up again and again in the post punk MP3 blogs… The Verge. I tracked down a member of the band at his day job at some point in the late ’90’s about some sort of release of all else that the Verge did, but, sadly, nothing ever came of it. I never got to see them live, but their 7″ was one of the first indy record purchases I ever made, and it remains a favorite. Firmly in the realm, style and era of Gang of Four, Mission of Burma and The Big Boys (but nowhere near as remembered), it is a startling document. Get your Verge on here.
