Small, but influential publisher Gates of Heck (1992–2000) is having a retrospective exhibit from Saturday, July 31 through August 11. Gates of Heck was the brainchild of publisher Katharine Gates. Throughout the 90’s, this adventurous imprint produced idiosyncratic projects by artists like Charles Burns, Gary Panter, Art Spiegelman, Annie Sprinkle, Carolee Schneemann, Steven Cerio, and many more. Celebrate the legacy of this visionary enterprise and meet the publisher at Fantagraphics Bookstore on Saturday, July 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Exhibition on view through August 11.
