I’m back again with a few more examples of that underrepresented splash of creativity from the late 80s Japanese avant comics scene. Outside of the renowned and better known in the US Garo Magazine (cover gallery), many of the artists of this era stepped out in the adolescent dude comix weekly Comication and in mainstream commercial art (as previously covered here). I’m pretty much blowing my load in this post of pieces I have from that mag as well as the previously covered Illustration Magazine. Chris Capuozzo steps things up yet again in this ongoing survey of this great work in recent posts on Yosuke Kawamura and Suzy Amakane (Part 1 | Part 2) Suzy’s stuff is particularly brain destroyingly good.
