Wild Planet’s Beat Blenders

Girls of Slender Means by WOWCOOL

Picked up this pair a few years ago and did damn little with them. Finally broke them out for the “Girls of Slender Means” sessions with Mike and Nick of nickname: Rebel (excerpt above). It’s a tricky double-backed beast and deserves a further look, and probably some serious circuit mangling. And just what sort of info passes through those RJ45 plugs? See video and links to circuit bending info below.

Photo of the Beat Blenders was achieved by slapping those babies on a flatbed scanner. Came out pretty cool.

  • Hey. For some reason these things have just resurfaced on the web. Not sure why. They are hard to find, and when you do find em, they are already bent, or overpriced.

Have you popped yours open to see what kind of bends can be done? I’ve seen some video of a pitch bend and talk of a volume pot, but not sure what else can be done until I find one and get it in my grubby paws!

  • ams,
That Power Rock one is only 8 bucks on Amazon (link above). I haven’t cracked them open. I’m re-outfitting my electronics stuff and setting up a new workbench, so, hopefully soon. Those things are pretty unpredictable when you link them. Sometimes magic, sometimes nothing.

    Your site is awesome btw.

    Marc
