Krebstar
UPDATE: Krebstar has been retired. Mike and Rob (in Oakland) have released a couple of CDs as Live Free or Die. Find out more from Catchpenny Records, 2434 Adeline Street, Oakland, CA 94607. nickname: Rebel is Marc's new project. Here's what we did... none of the three self-released tapes are available anymore. There was also a short-run CDR of structuralist pieces called "Barry Morse". The recordings of Krebstar are being looked at hard and considered for some sort of actual CD release in the future. Master of the Pandowdie collects the Kreb sound at its slickest with over a dozen songs. The two strands of Kreb History are united here - the noisy basement sounds and the early-nineties Schenectady, NY group, The Texas String Orchestra. Somehow it came out like folk disco. Featuring Jason Martin of Brown Cuts Neighbors and Steven Cerio of Lettuce Little. 60 min. Provisional - the debut release of Krebstar - is a 90min. barrage of noise. Face Down In The Dirt A messy ambient remix of the myopic moods of Krebstar.1981-1997. Based largely on a tape labeled 'Doug and Dog' found at WRPI in Troy, NY. Densely layered. 60min. |

Vermiform Records released a great noise compilation CD called Fruited Other Surfaces in 1998. Krebstar contributed the track "Rehab is for Quiters", alongside finer works by such luminaries as our old friends Drop Dead, The Replikants, Rah Bras, Lightning Bolt and Vermiform stalwarts Men's Recovery Project. Go get it at a store near you, or order yours direct: Vermiform - 112 Harvard #316, Claremont, CA 91711 Krebstar also contributed a twisted rendition of Nick Cave and Lydia Lunch's Main Kelly and Me to a Cave tribute tape called WHAT CAN WE GIVE YOU? Good luck finding that one. Mandibles in Crisis magazine from Hawaii released a comp. featuring the pre-Kreb band of fognozzle, which also featured: Xome, 3D House of Beef, Mike Nobody, Cock E.S.P., Jay T. Yamamoto and Men's Recovery Project. Contact: Mandibles in Crisis; 99-1661 A Aiea Heights Drive; Aiea Heights, HI 96701 Krebstarc/o Marc Arsenault 51 3rd Street Troy, NY 12180 |

On a very long day in September Jason Martin of Brown Cuts Neighbors, Jim Kopta of Hail Mary and BCN, Steven Cerio of Lettuce Little and Marc Arsenault, your friendly webmaster and Krebstar person gathered in a studio in Catskill, NY. The results are known as Horseback Solids, the name a mutilation of Salvador Dali's title for an unproduced Marx Brothers script he wrote. There is some vague danger that these recordings may yet see a release. Horseback Solids contributed one of the 500 locked groove tracks to the RRR500 LP compilation (RRRecords) Listen to Horseback Solids (683k QT Mov)
