Gnatrat: The Dark Gnat Returns by Mark Martin

Gnatrat: The Dark Gnat Returns

The great superhero satire by Mark Martin. The first installment in the acclaimed series. A parody of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and other Frank Miller comics of the 1980s including Ronin and Daredevil: Born Again Colors: Lanny Chappelear Typesetting: Ben Buford

it is 50 years after the retirement of the legendary vigilante crimefighter, the Gnatrat, but crime has not retired with him. In fact, thriving is the villainous Art Gang, determined to take control of the entire comic book industry. To fight these evil, shadowy figures, billionaire play-rat Boo Swain takes up the cowl and Gnatmobile once more.

"It’s much more beautifully illustrated than it has any right to be, and may actually be better drawn than the thing it’s spoofing. Crap, I consider some of the illustrations (like the one where GnatRat pours salt all over a slug) to be more iconic than the originals." -The Webcomic Overlook
